First Look: Christian Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
While summer makes a grand entry into our lives, we are pleased that it is also followed by a refreshing collection of gorgeous shoes and bags by Christian Louboutin. The legendary designer’s theme for his whimsical Spring/Summer 2014 collection photo campaign couldn’t have been more apt – Flowers!
In collaboration with ace photographer Peter Lippmann, the pictures make a very creative and heaven-esque visual representation of the products.
The SS14 collection includes a range of graphic shapes, iconic hardware and a mix of modern materials. Warm pastel hues, floral prints and eye-catching bright colours that induce the spirit of travel make up the core of this collection. Forming the shoe collection are the classic Apostrophe and Bat Pump styles, the Amazon boots and the Laurence Anyway. The cross-body bag, called Sweety Charity, for women, and the tasseled Dada loafers and lace-up Alfred shoes from the men’s collection make it to our list of favourites, if we simply had to choose.
Inspired by the floral works of impressionists such as Monet and Van Gogh, Lippmann has orchestrated a beautiful symphony of past and present masterpieces. If shoes were made in paradise, we reckon this is how they would look like.
