Boudoir Designs: Shehla Khan Debuts on the Ramp
There’s a Shehla Khan phenomenon doing the rounds, and it comes wrapped it layers of exquisite lace.
For any new designer to get noticed, dressing the who's who of Bollywood has proved to be the road to success. In the case of Shehla, the A-listers start with Sonam Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor and extended all the way to Jacqueline Fernandes and Alia Bhatt. But once you get passed the star studded tales, you start to notice her designs are just as stunning as the women who swear by her.

Earlier this year, Shehla opened her very first store in Mumbai. But there's another reason why it's a spectacular time to be her. The designer made her official ramp debut with Lakme Fashion Week this summer in a show that had the audience in a romantic spell.
“My collection is called Boudoir,” she said, “it’s certainly the most intimate place for a woman.” Nudes and muted pastels made for her colour palette, while lace and embroidery adorned every fabric. The models walked down in a stunning display of lehengas and gowns. Surreal romanticism was evidently the mood of the night. "I used Dior and Valentino as the starting point of my collection. I went back to the original designs of each of the labels," she smiled.
But her dream woman is certainly Karisma – the actress who graced the stage as her showstopper. "You will always see her in dresses and anarkalis. This time I wanted her to highlight her sensuality.” As her gown took to sheer half way down the legs, romanticism took over as the mood of the night.
