Renowned cognac brand Louis XIII has launched a series of limited edition decanters called the Time collection. The range is introduced to highlight the rich history that the spirits brand boasts of. On our wishlist, today is the first release from the collection—The Origin 1874, a crystal decanter inspired by the original one created for Louis XIII during the 16th century.
Intricately handcrafted using crystal by Saint-Louis (one of France’s oldest glass manufacturers), this decanter comes with 13 spikes as opposed to the 10 used in today’s designs. The stopper of the vessel is uniquely shaped as an upturned mini decanter with spikes. This limited edition masterpiece comes packaged in a metal case with sliding doors and is sealed with a rod—a modern version of the packaging used by Louis XIII in the 19th century.
As for the cognac inside, it is the brand’s classic blend brimming with notes of honeysuckle, leather, fruits and spices.
