Here’s some good news for oenophiles flying Emirates. Ever since the official announcement in 2014, the airline has been introducing its flyers to a selection of wines worth $500 million, thanks to the Emirates wine program; the program is pivotal to the airline’s in-flight dining experience.
As part of the program, Emirates promised to age 1.2 million bottles in its own cellar, with some that will be ready for consumption only by 2020. Over the years, Emirates has built a direct equation with some of the world’s most prestigious chateaus and vineyards. As a result, the airline will get to handpick the wines served aboard.
