In the wake of the recent launch of chic homeware by fashion designers Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Rohit Bal, we present to you a list of collection-worthy labels to invest in now.
Sabyasachi X Pottery Barn
Kolkata-based designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has collaborated with American furnishing store Pottery Barn to design a home decor collection. The 50-piece collection, that includes dinnerware, pillows with brocade covers, quilts, rugs and jewellery boxes, is the furnishing brand’s first global line. It is defined by floral motifs, intricate embroidery and sophisticated colours.
Mukherjee roped in artists from the Sabyasachi Art Foundation to design the artwork and patterns for the range. The collection will be available online at potterybarn.com, and will be in stores on 1st November, 2016.
Crystal by Rohit Bal
Revealed recently at brand Rohit Bal’s Mumbai store in Palladium Mall, with this crystalware collection the designer seems to have moved beyond fabrics. The couturier collaborated with artisans and crystal cutters from Czech Republic and Slovakia for this range. It consists of wine glasses, champagne flutes, whiskey decanters, cups, vases, platters, and salvers made using the finest quality crystal. Featuring Bal’s signature dancing peacock and lotus motifs, the pieces in the collection are finished with pure gold and platinum accents, and are available at Rohit Bal stores in Mumbai and Delhi.
FCML India’s Incidental Collection
With a view of adding a unique dimension to interiors, FCML, an Indian lifestyle brand offering exquisite home products, collaborated with some of the country’s most famous designers labels like JJ Valaya, Abraham & Thakore, and Péro by Aneeth Arora to create a line of artistic tiles called the Incidental Collection. Each designer has lent their personal touch to the collection. While JJ Valaya has designed the tiles with traditional patterns inspired by the Mughal era, designers Abraham and Thakore have given them interesting earthy and geometrical patterns, and Aneeth Arora has added vibrant floral motifs to these tiles. While the collection was announced in July this year, it hit stores on 24th October, 2016, and will be available at FCML India online and brand’s stores in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai.
