Week in Luxury: Cars, Designer Editions and Merry Gifting
Ferrari-themed garage at Paradise Valley
This week, high end car manufacturers seem to have inspired an interesting host of goodies and services, much to the joy of motor enthusiasts. First up is Paradise Valley’s 2,400 sq ft Ferrari themed garage, which boasts of retired race cars, an engaging entertainment and bar set up, and a soon to be unveiled dedicated area that will be equipped with a high tech race simulator.
If Ferrari’s simulator isn’t enough thrill for your bones, you could try the real thing with Supercar Drive Days one-of-a-kind packages. Ranging from $1,300 to $4,000, the higher-end deal allows UK licensed holders one instruction lap and three laps in a Mercedes AMG 63 or a BMW M3. The customer would also get three laps in an Aston Martin DBS, Ferrari 458 Italia and a McLaren MP4 12C, and finally the day is concluded with a drive in the Bugatti Veyron.
On a whole other tangent is automaker McLaren with its MP4-12C inspired accessories like a limited edition Tag Heuer watch, a luggage set, black leather wallets, gloves ergonomically designed for grip, and many more. Much of the range employs a volcano orange and chromatic black finish to give the accessories a sophisticated and sporty finish.
Louis Vuitton monogrammed strap by Riley G Designworks
It’s almost an LV… well, kind of anyways. A limited edition range of Louis Vuitton monogrammed camera straps are creating quite a stir amongst brand loyalist. Riley G Designworks has created exclusive one-of-a-kind straps by cutting up a garment bag by the label. It’s hard to guess if the hullabaloo has more to do with the demand for these monogrammed frills or the fact that this is not really an LV product, but merely an accessory fashioned by using one. Does this classify as designer in your books?
Well, not to us anyways; this is why our interest veers towards victoriabeckham.com. Much of the socialite/designer’s fashion line will now be available for purchase at this web address. Victoria Beckham’s range of apparel are already a smashing success and this e-commerce site is clearly the next logical move to propel her popularity even further.
Christmas gifting options by Gucci, Noche Espanola and Paul Flato
Good Tidings and Even Better Gifts
With Christmas around the corner, it comes as no surprise that designers are playing up their holiday appropriate gifting alternates. Among this never-ending release, some that particularly caught our eye were Gucci’s exotic lime green crocodile skin iPad case, those ‘Sofia Etoile’ open toe platforms and Gucci’s Bamboo crocodile top handle bag.
The others that caught our eye were Hermes, with its black calfskin men’s boots, the Noche Espanola Walking Cane, Sir Terence Conran’s tool set and cabinet, and ‘Deaf & Dumb’ cufflinks by Paul Flato for their creative use of sign language in design.
