Scheduled for a mid-November launch is a badass amphibian that promises to take on land and sea with the same vigor. Before you run for the hills assuming a green-eyed monster is on the loose, we suggest you check out the BMW Gibbs Quadski that can go from a land drive to water sporting equipment within five seconds.

Powered by 175hp four cylinder motor with 103 pound-feet of torque, the Quadski supports a 15 gallon fuel tank and can do an impressive 45 mph in both environments.

The 10-footer (in length) weighs in at 1,300 pounds and is quite a challenge to balance if you do not have a co-passenger to even you out.

The $200 million investment reflects in the smooth functionality and transition of the Quadskis, and the makers expect a reasonable number of purchases of the $40,000 drive. The first year will however cautiously witness production of only 1,000 Quadskis.

Whatever be the fate of Gibbs latest addition, the over ambitious maker is optimistically already hard at work on the next set of amphibian monsters—a 30-foot long, 6.5-ton vehicle, and a 22-foot, 3.5-ton model.
