Aston Martin’s Centenary Celebrations Move to Dubai
The Vanquish being airlifted on to the Burj Al Arab.
If there ever was a take-notice gimmick, this is it. You can’t pry your eyes away from a car being airlifted 1,000ft up in the air, can you?
Now if the car is a special edition Aston Martin Vanquish, and the building, the luxurious Burj Al Arab in Dubai, it’s only seconds before you’ve got the whole world eating out of your palm.
As part of its centenary celebration, the car marquee flew the Vanquish onto the luxury hotel's helipad so that dignitaries and the media could give the car the once over.
Aston Martin’s CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said they picked Dubai, and particularly Burj Al Arab for the venue, because they wanted a destination that was as high profile as the car itself.
All part of a year-long celebration, the day event was followed up by a glamorous evening soiree, where the Aston Martin wings were flashed across the Burj Al Arab building, using a light display.
As part of the promotions, the company also released this 4.5 minute video for worldwide distribution.
